Peter von Tiesenhausen show at the Clint Roenisch Gallery

Here is a review of the show.

Peter von Tiesenhausen is a 4th cousin of mine. I find his approach art very, very interesting.

Much of his work uses natural materials that he allows to decay. The connecting of art to nature to the land to the landscape brings in a very interesting art approach to what I would call the land ethic.

His work is not that typical bland art prints that show sterile images of the wilderness and wildlife.

I was captivated by his ship in the hayfield when I first saw it. I did not know it was his work when I first saw the image.

In my opinion, he is the most interesting and innovative artist working in Canada at this time
